Wiring for a Brake Controller in a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a 2014 chevy Silverado 1500 that did not come with a towing package I want to install a Hopkins 40995 7 blade connector. and I am transfer a Curt C74VV Venturer controller from another truck, My question is what kind of harnesses will I need Thanks

I can definitely help you with a connecting your Curt Venturer Brake Controller # C74VV. For this install, you will need a Curt wiring harness # C51451. To install this harness, you need to remove the cover from the black box to the left of the brake pedal. Inside that box, there is a plug in for the brake controller wiring harness. From there it is simply routing/hiding wires and mounting the Brake Controller then pressing the quick connects into place. I've attached a video for you of this install.
I couldn't find anything on the Hopkins 40995 you mentioned, but I think you may be looking at the Hopkins Pollak 7- and 4-pole Trailer Connector, # HM40975. This is a confirmed fit for your truck. I've attached an installation video of this as well. You may want to use some dielectric grease like # 11755 to keep the connections protected from the elements.
