Brake Controller Recommendation for 2005 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

Im looking to buy items C16155 and C16420-204 for a 2005 Dodge 2500 quad cab diesel with the 8-foot bed. What brake controller do you recommend? I see so many choices. I know that I want a proportional brake controller and its possible that i will tow only 3 times, 125 miles each trip, before selling the 5th wheel trailer with no plans to replace it. So I dont need a brake controller with a bunch of bells and whistles. The trailer is an Aljo Alliance, 1988, 28 feet. I think it weighs about 7000-8000 pounds. Thank you.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This controller is basically the stripped down version of the P3 which does have a ton of bells and whistles.

To install the controller all you need is the install harness part # 3020-P which is a confirmed fit.
