Recommended Adapter To Use In 2-Inch Trailer Hitch As Tent Tie-Down Anchor

Question:

I am looking for a straight extender for a 2 inch that would be about 4 ft or so long. How long is this one? Or what do you recommend? I want to extend the hitch so that I can tie the end of the hitch to a tent to help hold down the tent in heavy wind for tailgating. Thanks

The extension I recommend for you is the Erickson Big Bed Junior Load Extender for Truck Bed or Roof # EM07605. This extender is normally used for cargo that is too long for a truck bed but you could tie your tent to the arms on the end of this unit. It extends 50 inches and has a 350-lb weight capacity. It also has a 17 to 24 inch vertical adjustment and will work with your 2-inch trailer hitch receiver.

The extended bar you asked about, part # X12-BAR is designed for 1-1/4 inch receivers so that would not be a fit for you.
