Complete Trailer Hitch for 2016 Chevrolet Colorado
Question:
I just bought a new Colorado, but they wanted my first sons left arm for a tow package. Can you set me up with everything I need? I tow a 5x8 utility trailer to the store or lake from time to time.

I'd recommend the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13176. It is a Class III Hitch with 2 inch receiver that has a Gross Trailer Weight of 8,000 lbs and a max tongue weight of 800 lbs. It is a custom fit designed specifically for your Chevy Colorado with bolt-on installation.
You will also need a ball mount, and I think Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount, # D900, will be ideal. The multiple balls fit various towing needs and the adjustable height fits almost any application. There is a maximum rise of 4 inches and a maximum drop of 5-3/4 inches from the top inside of hitch opening. This makes towing your trailer level very easy.
The last thing you'll need to start towing is a wiring harness. The Hopkins Pollak 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets with Mounting Bracket and Wiring, # HM40975-11998, will meet all your wiring needs. Hopkins also makes a Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector, # HM11141164, which is also a fit for your 2016 Chevrolet Colorado.
I've added videos of installs to help.
