Will the MagnaFlow Universal Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter # MF94007 Fit on a 1992 Ford F-150

Question:

Just curious about the warranty on Magnaflow Catalytic converters, if for instance internally a piece broke off and was causing a restriction, would I contact you etrailer or magnaflow direct about the lifetime warranty, also by using the cat on a different vehicle than the application calls for, does that void the warranty, Example: the model # 94007 is for a 1986 - 1987 Mercedes 190 Series 2.3L, but I would be using it on a 1992 F-150 4.9L six with headers, because it would facilitate an easy hook up with the dual inlet/single outlet configuration, or because its listed as universal does it not matter what type of vehicle it goes on? Im just looking a possible scenario down the road sometime, just wondering. Thank you.

The MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter - Universal, item # MF94007, is actually the correct universal application for the front catalytic converter on your 1992 F-150 Pickup with 4.9 Liter engine. The 1992 F-150 with 4.9L engine requires 2 catalytic converters, unless you do a swap for a system that has a larger catalytic converter to handle the emissions.

The MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter - Direct-Fit, item # MF93302, is the correct direct fit system for your vehicle that only requires the one converter. Essentially, this system is a 2 for one swap and will improve air flow, which leads to more horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency.

If you want to stay with the two converter setup you would also need the MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter w/ Single Air Tube - Universal, item # MF94016, for the rear converter location.

I spoke to MagnaFlow directly for the warranty information, MagnaFlow has a 2 year 25,000 mile internal warranty, and a 5 year 50,000 mile external warranty for manufacturers defects. To obtain warranty service you would need to send the converter to MagnaFlow so they can inspect it to determine the reason for the failure. If the failure is determined to be a manufacturer defect, within the warranty period, MagnaFlow will honor the warranty.

The above suggestions are 49 state legal, and not approved for California. If you live in California let me know and I will determine the parts you will need for your state.
