Recommended Brake Controller And Trailer Wiring For 2000 Lexus LX 470
Question:
We are buying from Timbren two sets of axle less trailer suspension for a 4 wheel tailer, they recommended electric brakes and subjected we got in contact with you to aquire the electric brake controller for our Lexus LX470 year 2000. We need to buy the compete set up for or car all that is needed to be able to stop the trailer our suspensions from Timbrem are the model 3500 spindle equipped with electric brakes. Please let us know what to buy and how to install it to our Lexus. Send us a quote for all necessary equipment and hardware. They have suggested Tekonsha Prodigy 3P controller but you can recommend what is best for our car/trailer combination. The tailer loaded will not have more than 6000 # of weight including trailers weight. Thank you.

The P3, part # 90195 will be a very good brake controller for you. This is one of our most popular because it is easy to install and operate.
If you do not have a trailer connector on your Lexus I recommend part # 119178KIT. This kit comes with the circuit tester to help make sure you find the correct wires behind the tail lights when installing the kit.
You will then need part # ETBC7. This connects to the 4-way connector and the additional wires will need to be hardwired. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when installing a brake controller and the # ETBC7.
