Rubber Isolator on Passenger Side Muffler Clearance for Curt Hitch C13386 on a 2015 Ford Explorer
Question:
Jan D. commented that the Rubber Isolator on Passenger Side Muffler was in direct contact with the Curt hitch when installed, is this a typical issue with this hitch? I added the photo that Jan D. sent in with his feedback for reference, please advise.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Exhaust systems can sometimes come pretty close to trailer hitches once installed as they occupy most of the same areas. Exhaust systems don't hang in the exact same on every vehicle so we have found that in most cases the exhaust contact is not common. When our hitch manufacturers design the hitches they do so with avoiding the exhaust in mind so in most cases the two exist perfectly fine together.
