Question:
A question about PS63138 Pro Series Q-Slot Platform-Style 2 Bike and 4 Bike Rack for 2. Weight capacity states 90 lbs. as a 2-bike carrier. 140 lbs. as a 4 -bike carrier. Can I load 2 bikes at a total weight of 140 lbs. in the 2 bike carrier configuration?

Expert Reply:
The Pro Series Q-Slot PS63138 is designed for 45-lbs per bike.
The bike carrier is designed to have the 140-lb weight capacity distributed evenly when four bikes are loaded and is not designed to handle the total weight of 140 lbs when just two bikes are loaded.
It sounds like you have electric or recumbent bikes to carry. If you have electric bikes we do have a rack that may work better for you. It is the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Platform Rack, part # TH903202. This bike carrier has a capacity of 65-lbs per bike, and has locks included.
Another bike rack that has a big weight capacity is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider, part # HLY84FR. This rack has an 80-lb per bike capacity and may work well for you.
We do not have any recumbent bike carriers that can handle the weight you asked about.
