How is 5,000 lb Stromberg Carlson Trailer Jack Rated
Question:
Been looking at your electric trailer jacks and would like to know what is you mean by 4500, 5000, etc. Is that the tongue weight or the trailer weight? My trailer has a 10,000 lb capacity and dual axial but I dont know what the tongue weight is and which jack to get. Thanks for your assistance.

Our powered A-frame trailer jacks are rated by lifting strength. So a jack like the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 23" Lift # JET-50007 which has a 5,000 lb capacity could lift tongue weight of up to 5,000 lbs.
Your trailer that weighs 10k would have a tongue weight of around 1,000 lbs so this jack would easily work well for it. Getting a jack with a capacity higher than needed makes the jack work quicker and easier and it tends to last longer.
