Is Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Compatible with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Question:
I have an 08 F150 with towing package. I use a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller for my trailers with electric brakes. Im considering converting my vintage airstream single dexter axle 6,000 lb to disc brakes elec/hydral. Do I need the HBA-CAM to use the HydraStar actuator? Also, which 1,600 psi HydraStar is appropriate for my application? Trailer will weigh in the 3,500 to 4,000 lb. range. thanks

Your Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 is compatible with electric over hydraulic brake actuators and would not require any adapters. You would just need to put the controller in EOH mode.
The # HBA16 would be the correct Hydrastar actuator to use. This kit would work well on your trailer that weighs between 3,500 and 4,000 lbs. I attached a link to a page that has everything you would need to know about adding EOH brakes to a trailer.
A better kit for the actuator would be the part # HS381-9067 though as it has all of the wiring and breakaway kit included. This comes with the # HBA16 actuator in the kit.
