Bike Rack and Hitch Recommendation for 2012 Honda Fit Sport
Question:
Hi, I have a 2012 Honda Fit Sport and I would like to be able to tow 2 adult sized bikes. The trunk bike racks seem easier to install, but it looks like they arent compatible with the sport model of the Fit. Are there any trunk bike racks compatible with the Fit Sport? If not, which hitch is best for my vehicle and needs? Are there any additional materials I need to buy besides the hitch and bike rack? Ease of installation is not a factor, as I plan to go to my mechanic anyway! Also, are the hitches able to be removed when they are not in use? How difficult is this? Thanks!!

Because there are no trunk fits for the Sport models of the 2012 Honda Fit you would have to go with a hitch option. Which the hitch route is better all around anyway as it provides a more secure install point for the bike rack and it won't touch the painted surfaces of your vehicle.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite, most easy-to-use bike racks and this one showed up in nearly everyone's top three. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
For a hitch you would want the EcoHitch Hidden hitch part # 306-X7286 which is a confirmed fit and it doesn't require the stabilizer strap like the Curt does.
