Recommended Folding Step Stool for Use with Slide-In Truck Camper
Question:
Is there an add a stepinch kit available? I currently have a 4 step system that fit perfectly when I first got the slide in camper. Upon installing Timbren suspension enhancement, the steps are not tall enough. Having spent almost 250 for the steps, it is hard to justify getting rid of them to spend another 325+ to get the taller steps. It appears that it would be relatively easy to drill out the mounting bar and bolt or rivet on an additional step.

If you need a little extra height for entering and exiting your camper you might consider just using an additional folding step, such as # CAM43676 or # TE97FR. Both of these products are folding step stools that are inexpensive, lightweight and easy to store. We offer many such products that you can see on the linked page. They are available in a range of heights.
I cannot recommend modifying any existing step product simply because doing so will instantly void any warranty on the product, and unless you have an engineering background you might end up in a situation where the mod reduces the step capacity. Trouble is there's no way to test this ahead of time, so it is not recommended.
