If your crossbars are less than 3-7/8 inch wide and 1-3/8 inch tall (which they should be), we have a reasonably-priced solution for carrying your kayak. I'd recommend the Rhino Rack Nautic Side Loading Kayak Carrier, part # RR570. The carrier includes 2 straps to secure the kayak to the crossbars and two bow/stern tie downs. I'd also recommend getting two of the Rhino Rack Anchor Straps, part # RRRBAS. The anchors would be shut in the hood and rear hatch opening, and would provide a good place for the hooks for the tie-downs to attach without scratching anything. This system works best if you're tall enough to load the kayak from the side of the vehicle.
The Thule DockGlide you'd looked at, part # TH896 is also an excellent choice that fits crossbars up to 3-5/8 inches wide and 1-1/2 inches tall. The saddles that would be placed at the rear are felt covered, which would allow you to slide the kayak up onto the roof rack from the rear of the vehicle. Straps and tie-downs are included, and the anchor straps mentioned above would be compatible. This rack would work well if you're not tall enough to load the kayak from the side.
If you click the provided links, you can see a product demonstration videos featuring the kayak carriers I recommended.
