Why Does Curt Hitch for 2013 Volvo XC60 List a Harder Install than Draw Tite

Question:

Why does the Curt hitch have a higher difficulty of installation when compared to the Hidden and Draw-Tite hitches for the same vehicle? Also, any suggestions things to look for that I may have over looked prior to purchasing a hitch and wire harness?

The difficulty ratings for the install of the hitches for the 2013 Volvo XC60 are decided by the manufacturers. The Draw Tite hitch part # 75671 and the Curt part # 13268 are both so similar that neither would install easier than the other.

Curt just estimated that their hitch would take around 20 minutes longer than Draw Tite did. The install rating is nothing more than just the length of time it would take. I attached an install video for the Draw Tite for you to check out as well.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

For trailer wiring you would then want the custom harness part # 118739 which is designed to fit your vehicle.
