What Trailer Hitch And Hanging Bike Rack Will Work On a 2009 Pontiac Vibe
Question:
I want to put a trailer hitch on my Pontiac Vibe in order to put a hanging bike rack. Can you suggest both a trailer hitch and a hanging bike rack that would work together? 2009 pontiac vibe

You will want to check your owners manual or with the car dealer on the towing weight capacity of your 2009 Pontiac Vibe. The tongue weight capacity will be 10 percent of the towing weight capacity.
I recommend the Draw-Tite 1-1/4 Inch Class I Hitch, # 24812. This hitch is a simple bolt-on application. Even though the hitch has a 200 lbs. tongue weight capacity you will be limited to the lowest tongue weight capacity in your towing system, either the vehicle or the hitch.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions on the Draw-Tite hitch and a link to a picture of that hitch on a Pontiac Vibe.
The Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier, # TH934XTR, will fit a 1-1/4 inch Class I hitch but you will be limited to only carrying 2 bikes. The limit of 2 bikes is so the Class I hitch on your vehicle will not be overloaded. The 2 bike limit will be on most hitch bike racks that are to be used on a Class I hitch.
