How to Power Blue Ox Patriot on a 2016 Chevy Equinox
Question:
How to power the patriot brake system on a 2016 Equinox. When I pull the #32 fuse there is no power to the lighter connection. Also how do you get the breakaway power wire through the firewall??? Thanks for any help you can provide.

To power the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR on a vehicle like yours where the power to the cigarette lighter get turned off you have to use an outlet kit like part # RM-9332. This will run up to the vehicle battery and allow you to power it by bypassing the vehicle wiring. I attached an install video that shows this kit being installed on a similar 2016 Equinox as your as well.
The easiest way to get wiring through the firewall is to find where there is already wiring ran through it and then run the additional wire through the same hole in the firewall.
