Transmission Cooler and Longer Hose for a 2005 Honda Pilot
Question:
2 questions: I ordered this unit and have read that the hose is not long enough for a pilot? Is this true or will I be fine with just the hose that comes with the unti? I saw a video of an install with a 2006 Pilot and it appeared to be long enough, but it was not this unit. I also read a customer advised your directions do not coincide with his Honda Pilot directions and he followed Honda directions regarding attaching to the cold line which worked, however it would have been backwards had he followed your directions. I surely do not want to hook this up backwards nor do I want to get in the middle of a job to learn I do not have enough hose. Please advise.

For a longer amount of hose to use with the part # D13503 you would want the part # D13007 for a length of 25 feet of hose. The amount of hose that comes with the cooler is adequate for nearly all applications but for some vehicles longer hose is needed.
I attached an install video too that shows this cooler being installed on a very similar 2006 Pilot. Identifying the correct return line to use for the cooler can be difficult but there is an easy way to know for sure. Start the vehicle up when it is cold and put it in gear. With the brakes on firmly put it in gear and rev the engine for about 10 seconds. Put back in gear and shut engine off. Go out and feel the two lines. The cooler one is the return line and the one to use.
