Trailer Hitch & Wiring for 2008 BMW 328i Towing 4 x 8 Trailer with Dirt Bike
Question:
I called my local BMW dealership to see how much they would charge to install a hitch for me. They said they only do installments on factory parts made by them. So I asked how much their hitches were and they dont make any for my model. Does this mean my car isnt designed to have a hitch? Or is it ok? I would be towing a 4x8 trailer with a dirt bike.

There are indeed hitches made specifically for the 2008 BMW 328i sedan and these usually cost a lot less than any dealer option. We offer a light-duty Class I hitch from Draw-Tite, part # 24857, which you referenced. This hitch bolts on to your Bimmer using the included hardware, no drilling required. This hitch is rated to tow up to 2000-lbs but you'll want to also check your 328i owner's manual to confirm the weight the car is rated to tow.
You'll also need a ball mount, hitch ball and wiring harness for towing your trailer. The recommended ball mount is part # 3593, and this can be used with either 2-inch hitch ball # 19258 or 1-7/8-inch ball # 19256. Check the coupler on your trailer to see which size it requires.
For a wiring harness you can use 4-pole harness kit # C59496.
