Will Excessive Pavement Temperature Affect Tires On Trailer

Question:

I am moving 1800 miles from IL to AZ in a week and a half. I would like to replace the wheels and tires I currently have on my light duty trailer. I looked at these: Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8inch White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C - AM30040. I read that your tires are rated at 65MPH and that shouldnt be exceeded due to excessive heat build-up. Is there a better alternative to this tire assuming the pavement temperatures may exceed 145+ during my trip, not accounting for speed? The trailer currently has 16.5X6.5 tires on 8inch rims. Load range Cs. Thanks!

The failure of a tire is typically due to the tire being under-inflated or over-inflated. The heat of the road is normally not a factor with tire problems.

The tire wheel combo I recommend as a replacement for you is the Kenda, part # AM3H200. This is a load range C tire combo and it has a weight capacity of 800 lbs at 70 psi. This combo has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern and a pilot hole size that measures 2.5 inches.
