To determine if the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - Black # H00604 will clear the rear spare tire on your 2005 Jeep Liberty there are a couple of measurements needed. First, measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance needed to clear the spare tire. Also measure the distance from the top of the hitch receiver opening to the bottom of the spare tire.
On the Geardeck 17, it measures 14 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the carrier. Based on this measurement you can determine if there is enough clearance for the carrier.
