How Does Pro Series Winch PSKR10000301 Let the Line Out
Question:
I HAVE BOUGHT A BOAT TRAILER WITH YOUR PRO SERIES WINCH ON IT WITH OUT A HANDLE WHICH I HAVE ORDERED BUT I CANT FIQUIRE OUT HOW THE WINCH RELEASES SO I CAN BACK IT OFF TO RELEASE THE BOAT.

If the winch on the trailer is # PSKR10000301 then it just cranks in and out. There is no freewheel mode and no paw or switch to move in order to go between cranking in and out. this winch does have a brake that automatically holds the load if you let go of the handle (with a minimum of 50 pounds pulling on the line). But once you start cranking again the brake should let go.
On these winches some of the mechanism is contained inside the covered part that the handle attaches to. If there is something inside that is corroded, seized, or in need of repair that could be why the winch is not cranking out.
If that is the case then if it were me I would replace the winch since they are reasonably priced and it beats the hassle of trying to repair a winch.
