Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for 2008 Infiniti FX35
Question:
I have an Infiniti FX35, will be driving to Florida from MO and need to bring 3 bikes. Which is better, roof or hitch. I have factory installed roof racks so I would need to purchase brackets or need to have hitch installed.

I recommend the hitch mounted bike rack, Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, for your 2008 Infiniti FX35. This is one of the most valuable and user friendly bike racks in the industry and is durable during long road trips. The rack can hold up to 4 bikes and prevents contact with your vehicle. It also can fold down for easy storage, or tilt down for easy access to your trunk when the rack is on your vehicle.
I recommend a hitch mounted rack over a roof mounted rack for you because hitch mounted racks give easy access to the bikes when loading and unloading, unlike a roof mounted one. Also, the bikes will not come in contact with the car when using a hitch mounted rack. Overall, hitch mounted racks are typically more valuable, especially when carrying three bikes.
This bike rack fits with Curt Hitch Receiver Class III # 13558 and is confirmed to fit on your vehicle. This hitch comes with a complete hardware kit and no welding is required for installation.
If you are carrying any women's children's or alternative framed bikes without the top horizontal crosstube, you may want to consider a bike adapter bar similar to # TH982XT to make loading bikes easier.
If you are still interested in a roof rack I would suggest the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier # RBC035. This rack is confirmed to fit your vehicle and is a valuable roof bike rack. It is equipped with integrated locks and is made from lightweight corrosion-resistant aluminum.
I have attached a review video of the Hitching Post and MountainTrail, and an installation video for the Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Infiniti FX35 you may want to check out.
