Recommended Transportation of 2 Tandem Kayaks 90lb Each on a 2013 Ford F-150
Question:
I am considering purchasing two tandem kayaks but wanted to see what kind of rack would be required first. The kayaks have a combined weight of 180 pounds and the highest weight capacity I see for a roof rack on your site is 165 pounds. Is the weight rating per bar or for the entire rack? Thanks.

I have a solution for transporting the weight of your two tandem kayaks, but the combined capacity of the 2 bars in the roof rack systems you looked at is 165lbs.
For your situation, I recommend a ladder rack instead. This will give you an increased carrying capacity and many like the Yakima Outdoorsman # Y01136-Y00410 that will be compatible with the kayak accessories.
Depending on what size bed you have the ladder rack part number may differ, the example above are the product number that fit the 8 foot bed 2013 Ford F-150. I have linked all the ladder racks for your F-150 to this page for your convenience.
The Rhino-Rack # S510 kayak carrier can support the heavier weight of your tandem kayaks, you will need one carrier per kayak. The nice thing about the Rhino-Rack kayak rack # S510 is that you will not need an extra adapter to mount it to the Yakima ladder rack.
I have linked the above mentioned parts to this page for your convenience.
