Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Subaru Outback with Factory Hitch

Question:

I am looking for a platform-style bike rack for my 2016 Subaru Outback. I am looking at the Chinook 2-bike rack, but I do not see it as a recommended choice for my vehicle, which does have a 1.25inch hitch. Do you think it would work or not? Thanks!

For your 2016 Subaru Forester with a factory hitch the Yakima Holdup part # Y02445 would be an excellent choice that we would highly recommend. This platform rack is one of the nicest on the market due how it will only touch the bikes you carry at the tires, it's relative light weight for a platform bike rack at 49 lbs.

The other thing is that Subaru factory 1-1/4 inch hitches have the pin hole very close to the hitch opening. This means that not all bike racks will fit the hitch well. The Yakima hitch racks are actually the same ones that Subaru recommends so we know they will fit and work well.
