Best Slider Hitch Recommendation for a 2016 Ram 2500 Short Bed

Question:

Just purchased a 2016 Ram 2500 6.7L diesel, and we are looking at getting a big horn 5th wheel. I need some help knowing what type of 5th wheel hitch I will need for this truck r/v set-up. I would assume I will need a slider hitch so r/v and truck cab dont smack together during a turn. We dont have the r/v yet but it most likely will be a bighorn between 37-40 foot. Thanks for any help.

We have just what you would need. Since you have a short bed truck you would need a slider hitch to allow you to make tight turns without trailer/cab interference. My favorite slider hitch is the Demco Hijacker that automatically slides when you are going around tight corners. For that you would want the part # DM8550034 for an 18k hitch or part # DM8550035 for a 21k hitch.

Then for rails you would want the custom install kit part # DM8552025-71 that will minimize drilling and install time.

This is going to be the best setup I can recommend that I know you will be happy with. Having to manually operate a slider hitch all the time gets old and this hitch allows you to not have to worry about that. Check out the review video I attached that shows how it works and installs.
