The Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier, # TH934XTR, is designed for use with 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch receivers, so in that respect the rack will fit with the available trailer hitches for the 2005 Subaru Outback.
You will need to make an important measurement to see if the bike rack offers enough clearance for your Outback. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. If that distance is less than 11-7/8 inches, the bike rack will fit.
Next, you will need to determine the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch. If it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver, it is either a Class I hitch with a 200 pound tongue weight capacity or a Class II hitch with a 300 to 350 tongue weight capacity. If it has a 2 inch receiver, it will have a 400 pound tongue weight capacity. If you have a Class I trailer hitch, you can use the rack with only 2 bikes as long as the combined weight of the bikes and rack does not exceed the tongue weight capacity.
With a Class II hitch, you will be able to load 4 bikes as long as the combined weight of the bikes and the rack does not exceed the tongue weight capacity.
With a Class III trailer hitch and with the bike rack loaded to capacity (150 pounds) and the weight of the rack (30 pounds) the trailer hitch will have no problems. You will need to check the vehicle owners manual for the towing capacities of your Outback and not exceed the lowest rated item (either the Outback or the hitch, whichever is lowest). I have included a link to a video review of this rack below.
