Will Rails Used With RBW 5Th Wheel Hitch Work With Reese Hitch On 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Question:

Im looking at the Reese 5th Wheel Hitch RP30033. My rail spacing is 21 15/16. Im looking at a photo where it indicates the spacing is 20 1/4inch presumably for the mounting tabs. Is it really 20 1/4inch or does my rail spacing accept this hitch. Im currently using an RBW 15K hitch head but have purchased a larger coach and feel the need to upgrade.

In the past we have found that the only RBW fifth wheel hitch that will work with industry standard rails like the Reese fifth wheel hitch uses is the Lil Rocker. That does not sound like the RBW hitch you have.

I have attached a photo of industry standard rails that a Reese Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch like part # RP30033 would use. You can see the mounting locations dimensions and determine if your rails would work with the Reese hitch.

If you decide to replace the rails and kit in your truck I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP50064-58. Using this kit cuts the installation time in half versus the universal installation kit, part # RP30035, because it minimizes drilling.
