Roof Rack and Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier for 2014 Dodge Charger
Question:
I have a 2014 Dodge charger. I have soft racks that I carry my SUP board with but I dont feel good about driving at high speeds. I would like a hard rack and I think I will need a roof rack and then a separate something to attach for the board. I would appreciate help in picking something that would work. I am open to any brand that will be secure and worry free for me on the highway. Thank you

For the roof rack, I'd recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack. The rack is reasonably priced, looks great and is very strong with a 165lb capacity (which could be limited by the actual capacity of your roof, see dealer or owner's manual for more information). The rack would consist of the following parts:
Vortex Aero 49 Inch Crossbars, part # RRVA126B-2
Roof Rack Legs, part # RRRLKVA
Vehicle Specific Clamp Kit, part # DK298
To carry your stand up paddleboard, there are several available options. You could go with something very simple like the Rhino Rack SUP and Surfboard Pads w/ Tie Downs, part # RRRWP05. This kit includes soft pads that slip around your crossbars and prevent your SUP from getting damaged. Two tie down straps are included. This would be the perfect choice for carrying one board. If you were wanting to carry two boards, something a bit more elaborate like the Thule SUP Shuttle, part # TH811XT would be a better choice.
