What Trailer Hitches Will Fit 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS Without Any Trimming Of The Rear Fascia
Question:
Hi, I notice a lot of the 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS hitches mention the requirement to trim the rear bumper plastic. I would prefer not to have to do this for obvious reasons, and I was wondering if you could recommend a model that did not require the trimming, or failing that, a better explanation of what is involved.

On the Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch, # 24812, it will fit on your 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS with the lower rear fascia. The rear fascia has a center section that will have to be removed when you install the hitch. It is not hard to remove that section because it is made to be removed for a trailer hitch installation.
Also needed for towing would be the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 3593, and either the Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19256, or the Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19258.
The wiring harness needed would be the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118460.
I am sending video links to the hitch and the wiring harness being installed on a 2009 Toyota Matrix. It is not the XRS model but it will give you an idea of where the hitch will be located.
