How Weather-Resistant Is Craftec Hatch-Style Tonneau Cover

Question:

How does this cover do in the wind and rain. Ive seen a lot of soft covers flapping in the wind so I know water probably gets in. I have 2000 dodge dakota ext cab 6.5 ft bed.

The Craftec Hatch-Style Tonneau Cover, part # 352128 is a one-piece lightweight tonneau cover, and has two hidden latches at the rear so you will not have a problem with it flapping in the wind when installed on your 2000 Dakota.

The tonneau cover also has a dense foam weatherstrip attached to the bottom of the cover to help keep water out and also help protect the paint finish on your truck. I recommend making sure you keep the weatherstrip cleaned and possibly use something like Armor All protectant to keep it pliable so it seals more effectively in keeping dirt and water out.

No tonneau cover is completely waterproof, so there may be some moisture making its way in in extreme weather.

To help keep the cover looking new and protected, I recommend the TruXedo Pro-Tex Soft Tonneau Protectant Spray, part # TX1704511.
