Availability of a 12 inch or Longer Ball Mount to Clear Open Tailgate of 2011 GMC Sierra
Question:
I need a 2.5 inch ball mount with 2 inch ball, 3 inch drop. The kicker is I need the length to be 12 inch or longer. Im trying to my tailgate with the trailer attached. I currently have a 10 inch length. Can you help me please!

I have a solution that'd get you the ball mount length you're needing. First, you'd need to use a reducer, part # C45405 to convert your 2-1/2 inch receiver down to a 2 inch. Then, you'd use a ball mount like the # BH20 from CR Brophy. The # BH20 offers a 2 inch drop (we don't have anything in a 3 inch drop) and a hitch pin hole to ball mounting hole distance of 13-1/4 inches. For a 2 inch ball, you'd use part # A-90.
As long as you have the trailer ball within 1 to 1-1/2 inches of level, you'll be fine. The set up I suggested would have a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 1000 lbs.
