I checked the instruction guide for installation of the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 31374, to your 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. The guide says that trimming the front fascia is optional but not necessary. The front fascia will flex with part # 31374 installed on your 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. No, you do not need to trim the front fascia to install the hitch receiver.

Yes, Part # 31374, uses existing empty holes in the frame to mount to but also requires the drilling of a 17/32 inch hole through the frame rail on both sides. The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part #31374, comes with all new bolts and hardware to mount to your 2010 Dodge Ram 1500.
