Where to Wire LED Light Strips in a Camper Shell on a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I purchased a truck cap without a dome light and now I want to add LED strip lights to the shell. Where is the best place to tap into the wiring harness near the spare tire. Ideally it would be on the interior dome light circuit if that connection is available at the rear of the truck. The taillights are LEDs if that makes a difference. Thank you

Use a circuit tester such as #PTW2993 to test the wires on your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 to find the one that carries the 12-volt tow package circuit. It will have power all the time. You can wire up the LED light strips to it via a switch (if no switch is included with the light strips). If you need a switch, I recommend a simple on/off switch # PK34513.
