Do Tekonsha Trailer Brake Controllers Work with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes for 1997 Ford F-250
Question:
1997 F250 ford diesel with tekonsha brake controller, Number on bottom I think is 69-50. Bought a trailer with ele. over hyd. brakes. Is this controller compatable for this type of brake system. I cant get them to work.

There are only two Tekonsha brake controllers that work with electric over hydraulic brakes. First is the P-3, # 90195. The other is the Prodigy P2, # 90885. I have included links to the installation details for both of these controllers below. If your brake controller is older, it will not work with electric over hydraulic brakes.
If you decide to get a new controller, I recommend the Prodigy P2, # 90885. It can be used with electric over hydraulic brake systems, it is user friendly, and has a wide range of mounting options. If your truck does have the port on the drivers side of the cab off to the right, you can just plug the harness # 3035-P in and connect to the back of the P2. But if you already have the wiring ran, you can use the hardwire wiring adapter that comes with the # 90885.
