Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 Ford F-250 Short Bed with B&W Turnover Gooseneck

Question:

have you ever heard of a gooseneck adapter damaging a 5th wheel frame? I ask b/c Lippert Systems warranty excludes frame damage that might be caused from using a gooseneck adapter. Is there any difference in the smoothness of pulling with a cushioned gooseneck adapter vs a 5th wheel hitch like BandW t/y

Expert Reply:

We sell the adapters that Lippert is referring to like part # CAB-C5G and we are aware of that warranty stipulation they have on their frames, but we personally haven't seen the frame damage that they are warning against.

Since it sounds like you have a 2013 Ford F-250 short bed with a G and W gooseneck hitch installed like part # BWGNRK1111 your best solution is going to be the B and W Slider Companion part # BWRVK3400. Not only will this not void your trailer warranty...it will give you turning clearance to make tight turns as the hitch can slide back, and will be a smoother overall ride quality than the adapter route.
