Does Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 43605, Need Anything Else To Work On A 2006 Nissan Xterra
Question:
Does this wiring kit have everything I need to install or will I still need the relay wiring from the dealer? My vehicle did not come tow ready. Thanks

Expert Reply:
On your 2006 Nissan Xterra without the tow package, you will need the Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 43605, which will connect to connectors located behind the taillights of your vehicle. This will have everything you will need to have a 4-Pole trailer connector on the rear of your vehicle.
The Hopkins wiring kit will include a length of wire that you will run from the powered converter to the front of the vehicle and attach to the vehicles positive side battery terminal with an inline fuse connector (included).
This will allow you to draw power for the converter directly from the vehicles battery instead of through the wiring system, which protects the electrical components on your vehicle.
You will not need the relay wiring from the dealer.
