Question:

the truck wiring harness has an extra wire that is green and labeled stop lamp. Do I attach it to the red wire wire labeled feed wire from battery and then attach those two to the red wire on the aftermarket harness ?

Helpful Expert Reply:

On your Ford truck the light green wire does carry the brake switch signal and this one wire only should connect to the RED input wire on the controller.

The three other wires to your P3 brake controller, white, blue and black, attach to the vehicle as follows. The white wire is ground and attaches to the battery negative terminal; the blue wire is the controller's brake output signal to the 7-way; and the black wire connects to the battery positive terminal through a 30- or 40-amp circuit breaker like # PK54540. The vehicle brown wire does not need to be connected to the controller.
