Can Taller Tires be Used on a Club Car DS Golf Cart with 18x8.5-8 Tires

Question:

Hello, I have a Club Car DS which has stock rims and tires. - rim the stock 8x7inch having a Not Offset 3.5x3.5inch offset and 4 bolt with 4inch bolt pattern - tire is a 18x8.5-8inch I would like to have a slightly taller tire perhaps as much as 2inch which would raise my cart about 1. most folks seem to do radical suspension lifts and 22inch tires but I would rather just have very slightly wider and taller tires to fit under the existing body. Additionally I examination under my cart the 10x7inch wide rim with a Not-Offset rim would still work best if I wanted to keep the tire under the body and not hit the right front tie-rod mount. After some math and a goal of 20x8.5-10, irrespective of availability, I converted to the new metric values and came up also with 215/55-10 or 215/60-10. I dont see these sizes on your website. Do such tires not exist? In a web search I did find a 215/65-10 but it ends up being 21inch tall. Thanks for your help!

The modern equivalent of a 20x8.5-10 is going to be a 205/65-10 which is going to be approximately 20.8 inches tall and 8.3 inches wide which will be 2.8 inches taller and nearly the same width as what you have now. We have several tire and wheel combos in this size. I have included a link to the options for you. For example we have # AM3H370 which is rated for 1,100 pounds at 50 psi.

These are technically trailer tire and wheel combinations but could theoretically work on your Club Car if there is enough space for a taller tire.
