Blocking or Backing Inside Trailer Wall When Installing RV Ladder
Question:
On another post you said If you are uncertain if your RV has backing installed, contact your RV manufacturer to confirm. It is unsafe to use a ladder that is not connected to the RV’s backing or sub frame. Question: What is backing? Thanks

By blocking or backing, we're referring to a support structure in the wall, like a wall stud. If the ladder is simply fastened to the outer sheathing, the ladder won't have enough support and it will pull out of the wall the first time somebody attempts to climb it.
