5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 3500 with 8-Foot Bed and No Factory Prep

My wife and I are looking at a 2016 ram 3500 with an 8foot box to tow our 10k 5th wheel. This truck doesnt have the factory 5th wheel prep so I will need to install an under bed 5th wheel rail. Which unit would work best for my desired application? Thank you.

A long box Ram 3500 is a great choice for 5th wheel towing and we can get you set for pulling your 10K 5th wheel. The linked page shows all our options for fixed 5th wheel hitches for your truck without the factory hitch prep.
If you'd like maximum towing flexibility along with excellent build quality and towing performance I recommend the B&W Companion system, parts # BWRVK3500-5W and # BWGNRK1314-5W.
With this set-up you can pull both 5th wheel and goose neck trailers with one system and also have your bed totally clear when you need it for cargo. No rails in the bed! Installation in a Ram 3500 is shown in the linked video. The B&W head features beefy 1-inch thick jaws and a fully articulating head for easier hitching on uneven ground. B&W backs this with a limited lifetime warranty.
For a wiring harness you can use part # C56000. This is a simple plug-in installation and it keeps your bumper-mounted 7-way fully active while providing a harness up in the bed.
