Recommendation for 7-way Wiring Harness on a 2012 Chevy Traverse Without Factory Tow Package
Question:
Hi - I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse that did not come stock with the tow package. Ive since added a Draw-Tite hitch and brake light wiring for a 4-pin connector connected to brake lights. I plan to purchase a pop-up camper and want to add a 7-pin connector and connect directly to the manufacturers wiring. But I still want to be able to hide everything with the plastic cover. Ive recently purchased a Hpokins #40975 connector but it does not bolt directly to the Draw-Tite hitch holes on bracket do not line up. Is there a connector that you could recommend that would satisfy these requirements? Your website is recommending 20119 Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4 Pole Trailer Connector. Do you have the wiring harness that connects directly to the manufactures plug? BTW all items have been purchased through etrailer.com. You guys have been great.

Good news! I can help you wire up your 2012 Chevy Traverse from a 4 pole to a 7 way for your Pop-Up Camper.
I recommend using the # ETBC7 wiring harness to transform your aftermarket 4 pole harness into a 7 way connector. This will allow you to plug in your current 4 pole and then run the additional wire functions to your vehicle. I've included a video link with this # ETBC7 harness being installed on a 2011 Traverse for your convenience.
Since the smaller Draw-Tite bracket on your hitch is only designed for the 4 pole Cequent bracket you may want to get a no drill mounting bracket to attach your # ETBC7 bracket to. We have a short bracket # 18140 and a longer bracket # C57202, both these will mount around your hitch with the use of a hose clamp.
