Recommended 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter for Towing 5th Wheel w/ 2016 Ram 2500 w/ Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
I need airbags for my 2016 ram 2500 and was told by airlift their system keeps the truck at factory ride height. I need to get about 2inch lower than factory ride height for my trailer to be level when towing. Are their any air bags that, when loaded, can live at 2inch below factory height, which is about 5-6inch tall? Also have you had any problems with Anderson Ranch hitches needing bracing to stop what I think is called chunking due to flex from bolting the setup to a pinbox? I want to convert to gooseneck and think the anderson system looks like the strongest option to give me full floorspace, would get Ultimate but takes up bed space thank you

None of our vendors that offer suspension enhancement products carry an air bag system that would lower your ride height by 2 inches. Everything available would put your truck at factory ride height.
We haven't heard any reports about the Ranch Hitch flexing, but some chucking is inevitable when you're using an adapter. The solution that would offer the best ride quality and conserve the most space in your truck bed would be the Reese Goosebox. The Goosebox would replace your existing pin box and would provide a superior ride because of it's integral air spring. Because it replaces the pin box, it won't take up any room in your truck bed.
There are three Goosebox models available, the model you need will depend on which pin box your fifth wheel uses. There should be a sticker or plate somewhere on the pin box that lists the manufacturer and model number of the pin box.
