Compatibility of Outer Bearing L44649 on a Boat Trailer
Question:
Hello, I am trying to replace the bearings on my boat trailer and the outside bearings read L44549. I dont see these available. All I see is L44649. Will those work?

I can help you figure out what bearing will work for your boat trailer.
What happens sometimes is wearing while the bearing is in use, L44649 is a very commonly used bearing and it is possible that the 6 wore off to look like a 5. What you will want to do is measure the inner diameter of the bearing, I recommend with calipers like # PTW80157 and if it is 1.063 then the # L44649 will work for your boat trailer.
An alternative location to measure would be to measure the spindle, I've attached an image for you to see that for the outer bearing you will need to measure D on your spindle.
If your if you get a different measurement just let me know, I'm not aware of a bearing with the number L44549, it could be an oddball size that isn't readily available.
