Hitch Recommendation for Using Kuat NV 2-Inch Hitch Bike Rack on 2015 Nissan Rogue
Question:
We have a 2015 Nissan Rogue and a two inch Kuat NV two bike hitch rack. What hitch do you recommend for this setup? I would like something as hidden as possible. I watched the 2015 Nissan Rogue video with the Kuat NV four bike hitch rack but could not see what type of hitch was on the vehicle.

The three 2-inch Class III hitches offered for your 2015 Nissan Rogue are all similar square tube designs. All will mount to the exact same location on the car's frame and their receiver tubes will sit in essentially the same spot, at about 5-1/2-inches forward of the bumper cover, with only the receiver tube visible. There can be slight variances from hitch to hitch but they'll all be in more or less the same exact place.
Each available hitch can be seen on the linked page. I recommend Curt hitch # C13204 because it will provide the best clearance of the three, by a small margin. It's hitch pin hole will sit 5-inches forward of the rear edge of the bumper cover. Please refer to the linked video. This means you'll have a healthy 2-inches of extra clearance between the rack's nearest part and the bumper cover.
The linked instructions list the tools required; the only specialized item needed is a torque wrench like # ALL944001 which is needed to secure the included fasteners to the correct torque values as shown in the instructions.
The Kuat NV 2.0 2-bike hitch-mount platform rack # NV22G provides 7-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack when folded up in the storage position. This means that ideally you'll use a 2-inch hitch that provides that much clearance plus an inch for safety. So in other words a hitch that sits with it's hitch pin hole 6-inches forward of the back edge of the bumper would be appropriate, giving you 1-inch of clearance safety margin.
