Recommended Replacement Pin Box for 2015 Keystone Cougar 313 with Lippert 1621 Pin Box
Question:
I have a 2000 F350 long box crew cab dully and a 2015 Cougar 313 5th wheel. I would like to put in a new pin box to help eliminate the kicking the truck takes and pounding the trailer takes. My pin box is a Lippert 1621. I do have air bags on the truck with compressor and in cab control to tailor my ride. It helps a lot but I understand something like the Mor Ride or Trailair pin box work wonders. You being the experts I was hoping you could steer me in the right direction for my truck / trailer combo. I also frequently pull a 2nd 14foot trailer behind the 5er with our Harley in it 880 lb ultra classic if that influences the decision at all. Thank you!

You are correct that an upgraded pin box can help dramatically improve your truck and trailer's ride when towing. The Trailair pin boxes offer great options for you.
The upgraded pin box I recommend to replace your existing Lippert 1621 pin box is the Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC328492. This pin box features an air bag and shock that will absorb road shock to help minimize jarring and bounce, while the pivoting head on the pin box helps limit chucking. The airbag, shock, and pivoting head help limit the strain on both the truck and the trailer. I have attached a manufacturer review video of this pin box for you.
There will likely be some trial and error required to find the best inflation level for the air bags on the truck and the air bag on the trailer pin box. The air bags on the truck and the air bag in the pin box can work against each other until a happy medium is found between the two for the best ride. We haven't seen many issues with this, but it can happen. It is best to begin with the air bag on the truck to provide a level ride for your vehicle. Then adjust the air in the pin box airbag to tailor the fit for you.
