Im looking at a RM521448-5 for my 2011 rubicon. What tow bar will I need ? Or should I get a different base plate? Thanks.

Roadmaster base plates # RM-521448-5 are a confirmed fit for the 2010 through 2016 model years of the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited as long as the vehicle does not have aftermarket bumpers, winches or guards. These base plates feature removable arms that let your Jeep keep more of it's normal appearance when not being flat towed. If you have a Mopar or Warn bumper on the Jeep then you'll need to use the linked page to choose compatible base plates; use the Select Vehicle Style drop-down menu tool to select your version and to see suitable base plates.

Safe and legal flat towing also requires safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit, high/low hitch adapter and a supplementary braking system. Each of these components is detailed in the linked article.

For safety cables use the coiled type # RM-643 that will not drag on the ground. For a tow bar use the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain # RM-522 as it will not require any adapters to fit the base plates. For a lighting kit use Hopkins # HM56200 since it is a custom-fit harness that does not require cutting into the Jeep's wiring. If you want you can install a wiring adapter # BX88254; you'll connect the 4-pole leads to the socket and mount it in your front bumper area.

You'll also need a braking system; I suggest the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR as it is fully portable and wireless for easy installation. For a high/low hitch adapter to keep your tow bar level you can use the linked page to select one with the correct amount of rise or drop.
