Question:

What is the best way to replace or fix a broken off key in my lock? I am ok replacing them if I have to but it is only on one side. Thanks for your help!

You would first have to remove the broken key from the lock and use the control key that came with the box to remove the lock core. You can then get the 4-digit number from the side of the lock core and order new keys.

If the key is stuck try wiggling the key out using a paperclip along the ridged side of the key. I have had luck in the past using dental picks to work broken keys out of a lock cylinder. If enough of the key stem is protruding from the lock, you could also try grasping the key with needle nosed pliers and removing it that way.

For replacement keys you would type Y8772-XXXX. The XXXX represents the 4-digit number you find on your lock core. For example if your lock core has A137 on it, you would type # Y8772-A137 in the search box. Then add the number of keys you want in the add to cart box.

If you do not have the control key you can order part # Y8007835. This is the control key that will unlock the box.

If you need to replace the keys and locks you can order part # Y07202 which includes a control key, two lock cylinders and 2 keys.
