How to Pick Out a Weight Distribution System for Use with Reese Dual Cam Sway Control
Question:
I have a Reese Dual Cam WD/Sway control on a used trailer we just purchased. I need to know what type of mount to buy for this and arms, etc needed to make this work with a regular hitch mount. Please advise. Thanks for your help.

We have exactly what you will need, but to get the correct rated components we will first need to know more information.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
A very common system that would work well with the Dual Cam Sway Control you have already is the part # RP66542. If your loaded tongue weight falls between 600 lbs and 1,200 lbs this system would be a great choice.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
Basically any Reese weight distribution system we offer that has spring bars that have the slight curves at the end like the # RP66542 will work just fine. It will be just a matter of finding the correct rated system.
