High Quality Roof Rack and Ski/Snowboard Carrier for a 2012 Acura MDX

Good Afternoon, I need information on high quality snowboard/ski combo roof racks thinking Yakima or Thule but also open to other brands if high quality. I own a 2012 MDX with no factory installed rack components on the vehicle. My thought is that I wound not only need the rack itself but probably some other components for the rack to install to. Features I would need it to have are: large need to carry at least two snow boards and one pair of skis, locking for security. I have also read on some reviews how clearance is an issue with some racks and the snowboard bindings so that is something to consider as well.

To carry skis and boards on the roof of your 2012 Acura MDX we will first start with a roof rack. You mentioned not having any factory rack. We call that a naked roof or a bare roof. It means there are no tracks or side rails that run front to back and no crossbars.

For a high quality roof rack that will fit your Acura with a naked roof and stand up well to winter activities I recommend the Rhino-Rack roof rack # RR65YR. Then you could use the Thule SnowPack # TH7325 which should have enough space for 2 snowboards placed side by side and one set of skis (with one ski on top of the other).
