Wire Functions of OEM Chevy Brake Controller Harness on a 2015 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I lost the sheet that came with the harness from the factory harness ,it has the plug for the front under the dash but I have 2 splice on my own brake controller and the colour coding doesnt match my controller I lost the sheet with told me you which wires on the factory loom which told me the function of the wires from the factory loom,can you help me ?

On a brake controller the white wire is ground, black is 12 volt power in, red is input from the brake switch, and blue is output to the trailer brakes.
I did some research and found that the Chevy OEM harness uses dark blue for output to the trailer brakes, red/green for 12 volt power, white/blue for input from the brake switch, and black for ground.
So you would attach the wires as follows:
Brake controller white to Chevy harness black (ground)
Brake controller black to Chevy harness red/green (12 volt)
Brake controller red to Chevy harness white/blue (input from brake switch)
Brake controller blue to Chevy harness dark blue (output to trailer brakes)
